A new report by Blask provides an analysis of the Finnish gaming market ahead of the scheduled licensing launch in 2027. The data compares the current standing of the state-owned operator Veikkaus against 240 active offshore brands.
Market Share and Revenue Metrics
The report utilizes three primary indicators: Blask Index (BI), Brand Attention Share (BAP), and Estimated Revenue (CEB). Under the BI metric, Veikkaus retains a 59% interest share, while offshore competitors hold the remaining 41%.
The distribution of attention and revenue shows a more balanced split. Offshore operators currently command 49% of the brand attention share and 49% of the estimated revenue, with Veikkaus holding 51% in both categories.
Some international brands are expanding their footprint prior to the regulatory shift. Pelikioski demonstrated a 430% year-over-year growth, whereas Epicbet saw a 194% increase during the same timeframe.
The full licensing market is set to open in 2027, which may redefine the competitive landscape. Additionally, 1win is currently running a World Cup campaign with a $100,000 prize fund.
